Whether you’re interested in becoming a monthly donor, donating stocks, or making a planned gift, these options allow you to align your giving with your personal financial interests while helping us sustain our vital preschool programs. Explore the options below to find the best fit for your charitable contribution.

If you have any questions, please contact us at info@helpkidsindia.org and our Development Manager will get back to you. Please note that the tax benefits described are specific to U.S. residents. If you’re located outside of the U.S. and have questions, feel free to reach out to us.

Why choose monthly giving? It provides reliable support that we can count on to sustain our work. It’s more convenient for you than sporadic donations and allows you to efficiently budget for the amount you wish to donate each month.

What are DAFs? A donor-advised fund is a charitable giving account that is established and managed by a sponsoring organization, such as a community foundation or financial services company. DAFs allow you to contribute to a charitable account, recommend grants to Help Kids India over time from the fund’s assets, and receive tax deductions.

How to donate through a DAF: Ask your financial advisor or DAF provider to designate a gift to Help Kids india. Contact us at info@helpkidsindia.org to inform us.

Why donate stocks? Donating stocks and securities can come with significant tax benefits. It can allow you to make a larger impact by avoiding capital gains taxes on appreciated stocks, meaning you save on taxes and HKI receives a larger donation.

How to donate: Click here to learn more about how to donate stocks to Help Kids India.

What are QCDs? You can make a tax-efficient donation to Help Kids India directly from your Individual Retirement Account (IRA), which can count toward part or all of your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD).

How to give through a QCD: To initiate the transfer, contact your financial advisor or IRA custodian, and let us know about your contribution by emailing info@helpkidsindia.org.

Maximize your impact: Many employers match charitable donations made by their employees, meaning that your donation can have double the impact. By participating in an employer matching program, you are reinforcing your employer’s commitment to corporate social responsibility and philanthropy.

How to participate: This is an easy and convenient process and is usually done through payroll deductions or online giving portals. Check with your employer or human resources representative if there is a matching program in place and provide them with our donation details. If they don’t offer one yet, you can encourage them to start a program!

Leave a lasting and profound legacy that empowers HKI to continue our work and make an even greater difference in the lives of children in South India: Consider including Help Kids India in your will, trust, or estate plans. Planned giving offers a flexible option that can come in the form of leaving a bequest in a will, establishing a charitable trust, or donating a life insurance policy. Charitable bequests may also be tax-deductible, which can reduce your estate taxes and lessen the tax burden on your heir(s).

How to set it up: Contact your estate or family lawyer to discuss the best planned gift options for you.

To leave a gift in your will, you can use the following language:

“I hereby give, devise, and bequeath to Help Kids India, a registered nonprofit organization (Federal Tax ID: 61-1572756), [insert percentage of your estate, specific dollar amount, or a description of the asset] to be used for its general charitable purposes, without restriction.”
